Another year had passed and we are walking one more step closer towards the unexpected. Every things, incident and moments in our life are like pieces of puzzle that are scattered everywhere, here and there within time. Then slowly but surely, those pieces will unite and combine, building whatever you will become when you have grown up. A lot of things had happened this year, but a lot of things here are only a very few pieces of that puzzle, which represents our life.
Another year had passed and another improvement is made. Just like usual. We learnt new things and gained new experiences every moment. A moment with nothing is useless, just like repeating the exactly same thing twice. Both pleasant and unpleasant things had happened this year, either expected or unexpected, either big or small. These things ~ which are things that happened in our life ~ are those pieces of puzzle, that made and build up our character, faith and knowledge.
I improved well in piano as I got a new teacher. She is one of the best and well known teacher in Surabaya, my previous teacher is nothing compared with my new teacher. She had graduated and received the title LRSM (Which is placed at the back of her name). LRSM is like the first bachelor degree of music. There are only a few people that had received LRSM in Surabaya, and there is only one person in Surabaya who had graduated from the second bachelor degree of music. My previous teacher hasn’t even graduated from any bachelor degree when she is still teaching me.
This year I followed grade 2 ABRSM exam on March 17th 2010 and passed with an impressive grade: 139. This grade is as high as the sky! It’s my first ABRSM exam and I already got Distinction, I could hardly imagine that! The minimum score to pass the exam is 100, 120 higher is classified as Merit, 130 higher is Distinction while the highest grade a person could receive is 150. A student whose grade is 140 or higher is invited to play in a High Scorer Concert, and I just need 1 more point to join the concert!

As we all know, Cita Hati carried out a musical production concert called Broken Wings Musical Production, which is held on 26th February 2011 in Galaxy Mall, Surabaya. This musical production was a major-major event in Cita Hati, everyone gone crazy because of this. I register myself as a keyboardist as soon as it is announced. I did my best during the audition and I passed it well.  |

Actually I was recommended to join the choir group, but I prefer to join the orchestra group instead, because I’ve experienced joining the choir group and I’m looking forward for a new challenge, besides I did this for scholarship also.
The orchestra players are supposed to rehearse every Wednesday after school, starting from 3.30 until 5.00 PM and Saturday starting from 8.00 until 12.00 AM and thankfully I could attend in every rehearsal. The teachers who teach us are Mr. Vicky and Ms. Lum, they both are nice and teach us well.
The problem (Or my problem) in playing in an orchestra is knowing the tempo which determine on what time should I play because I didn’t play all of the time, in orchestra, a person only play their instrument in a certain time and parts. I made a lot of mistakes because of that (But I have no problem in playing solo). And it made me feel that I’m stupid, talentless, useless, and a troublemaker, because I’m the only person who is like that. But this made me learn something ~ besides to practice more diligent and how to play in an orchestra ~ that everything happens for a reason, and that God will never do something with a vague reason. But even though so, it ended up very well.
On 19th December 2010, I won the first place (1st winner) in a piano competition. The competition is named Victory Music Party and was held in CCCL, Surabaya. I also followed 2 more competitions, which is named Victory Piano Competition that is held on 18th May 2010 and also Da Capo Piano Competition that is held on August 2010. (Had been mentioned in the previous essay)

Beside the activities that involves talent, I also followed several academic activities, and they are: ICAS, American Mathematic Competition (AMC), Checkpoint English Test, and Student Council. I also became the student of the month as a 'wise and knowledgeable' student and received a Kumon award for studying 2 levels above standard level.
Beside that, this year I was chosen to become the vice president candidate of my house: Belshazzar (Beltsazar in Indonesian). I was very surprised, for I have never dreamed or even expect myself to be chosen as a vice president candidate, though I did not won the election and received the second highest number of votes.
The Election Day is one of the most important moments in my life. It is the first time I stand in front of many people like that. My hands were cold, my heart was beating like a drum and my whole body is shaking. And I think the same thing also happened to the other candidates. The student council Leadership Skills Practice (LDKS ~ Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan Siswa) hasn’t been held yet. As I heard it will be held on March and I hope it would be exciting.
The Future is always beginning now. We didn’t know what waits us there, for the future is not in our hands and is not ours to see. Yesterday is history, today is reality, and tomorrow is mystery. We may look at the past, and learn, so that the same mistake will not be repeated. But we may not stay in the past, for it does not give any benefit
